Lanzarote 2000

Lanzarote belongs to the Canary Islands Group (with Gran Canaria, Teneriffa, Fuerteventura and some smaller islands) and is located 250 km west of the Atlantic Ocean coast of Marocco, Northwest Africa.

In September 2000 we spent one week on this volcanic island. In addition to the clean beaches there are a lot of things you can visit. Cesar Manrique (1919 - 1993) was an architect and painting artist who created a lot of things on Lanzarote. During the six year lasting volcanic eruption (1730 - 1736) one third of the island has been covered by the lava and ash.
